"Emails from Readers"

=====================================================
Dear Reader,
After not writing an issue in a while, I got a lot of response for
issue 62. I would like to share some of them with you in this issue.
I hope you enjoy reading these emails and comments:
"Email from Taipei"
Thank for sharing your great experiences in your newsletter and I
enjoy a lot. I have two kids (the elder sister is 8 years old and
the young baby boy is just 6 month), and try to find a place like
"Jacksonfive" in Taipei, however I can not find a one like it.
Could you please help to recommend any one that you know and is
good for my daughter to learn and have fun in Taipei or you have
any other alternative way to suggest us.
Many Thanks
I always get requests from readers asking me to recommend English
schools and summer camp outside of Taichung. I wish I could be more
helpful, but I can share with you what many of my parents coming
from Taipei have told me. They said they feel fortunate to have
moved to Taichung because we have JacksonFive in Taichung. They
said there isn't a school like JacksonFive in Taipei. Well, I don't
know if they are over exaggerating this, but this is what they said.
You know what is really weird? I have students who were either
planning to move to Canada or Shanghai because of work (father's
business) or study (less pressure). However, after really thinking
about it and visiting these places and exploring their schools, they
have decided to stay in Taichung because of JacksonFive. They've
told me that they couldn't find anything like JacksonFive in
Shanghai. And the students that were originally planning to
immigrate to Canada have also delayed their plans because they've
mentioned that JacksonFive is just as good as any school in Canada.
Wow, what compliments!
So to answer the question above about the "alternative" for our
Taipei readers: next summer I would like to create a
summer/homestead program for out-of-town students. During past
summers, I have been getting requests from readers outside of
Taichung wanting to send their children to our JacksonFive School
for summer vacation if we can provide food and accommodation. The
food and accommodation part was what worried me most, but I think I
have a good solution. Some of my parents/students at the school are
interested in hosting these out-of-town children for a month. They
think that it would be a good way for exchange and friendship with
children from another city or even another country (e.g. Hong Kong).
I believe so too. What do you think?
"JacksonFive member in the hospital"
Hello my dear teacher:
You must don't know how happy and cheerful I am when I receive your
letter.
I got a deadly car accident last December, two days before
Christmas. My body was seriously injured. Three of my ribs and pelvis
were broken. My bladder and urethra were ruptured. I was in coma for
three days and stayed at ICU for eight days. I didn't leave hospital
until two weeks from now. I stayed at the hospital for more than five
months totally.
Doctors said that patients like me would usually pass away in the
ambulance when on the way to hospital. I was fortunate enough to get
my life back from death. I suffered extreme pain in the process of
medication. I've had operations for eleven times (It's not over yet).
I even made good friends with nurses in OR. It's not worth
celebrating anyway. I'm now not completely cured. There is still an
artificial urinary vessel in me. But I can walk with he aids of
crutch. Thanks God. I hadn't walked for months.
I am a soldier now, or you can call me as substitute Duty (which is
another type of serving the term.) We don't go to the military units
but the places where it's in need of help. I fortunately went to an
elementary school in Nuntou teaching English. I love children very
much. I feel energetic and enthusiastic when I am stepping in the
classroom. Just like you. I love teaching English and is determined
to make it my lifelong career.
A few days before I got the accident, I wrote an email to you in
reply to the on-line composition correction curriculum. It was not
successful due to your computer problems. I was wondering if I could
join the curriculum now. My writing is not so good because I seldom
write. You know, I thought I couldn't read your newsletters again in
my whole life. My e-mail account was canceled due to not using it for
four months.
I've also tired to search for Jacksonfive on the Internet, but in
vain. I didn't remember how I went to your site for the first time.
It was just an accident or you can say that it's in the card. This
morning I almost jumped out of the chair when I received your letter.
I didn't lost you and the site is still working. Thanks God! So I
decided to write to you about what I am feeling now. I'm afraid if
there's another accident.
Thank you very much for reading the long letter.
P.S. Congratulations on having a baby. (Chloe is a very cute name).
It's not easy to be a father but I'm sure you can certainly do
a great job.
May God bless you and your family.
Sincerely reader
William
Dear William,
Please get well soon! It might take a while, but please stay strong,
both physically and mentally. Reading your email, I can tell you are
a very special person. I feel sad that it has taken so long for you
to recover from your injuries. Please stay optimistic.
I'm sharing your email with our JacksonFive Family because I feel
very touched by your letter. I'm sure many of our readers would like
to cheer you on as well. If they email me, I will forward them to
you.
You know what? Please email me your email address (sorry I lost it)
and telephone number. Is your hospital in Taichung or Nuntou? If it
is somewhere near, I will visit you. I would really like to meet you
in person.
Stay Cheerful,
JacksonFive
P.S. William, you are the reason I wrote this issue so soon after the
last one. I would like to dedicate this issue to you.
