JacksonFive's
Free "Path2English" Newsletter
Issue: 47      "JacksonFive Chain Reaction"     June 17, 2001
=====================================================

Dear Reader,

Recently, I came across an article about a teacher in Taipei who
owns a skin care store. In a small room at her store, she and her
teacher friends tutored high school students for free. The
children of her neighborhood have benefited a lot from her
    "wonderful charity".

Some people ask me why I write this newsletter. I think all of you
are curious why someone might spend 10-12 hours a week doing
something that doesn't make any money. Like the teacher in Taipei,
I feel I should do something to help people near me without asking
for financial compensation. If I helped people and they help
others, and those others helped more others, and so on, the world
would be a much better place. Don't you agree?

This newsletter is therefore my small way of making the world a
better place. I also use it to share about the things that I'm
doing in my life (my school) and what is important to me
(enriching our lives). I'm curious to know if any of our readers
are also doing something similar to change their part of the world.
If you aren't, why not? Trust me, helping others can be quite be
an enriching experience and what you get in return is always more
    than what you give.

Through my newsletter (point and click), many of you know that my
school (brick and mortar) is like my own child. Actually, starting
this school has been the physical realization of my dream for fun
education that enriches lives. I hope children that walk in the
door can be more creative and "intuitive" users of English (def:
understand without thinking). In the last year, this goal has been
realized, and we have helped all who come fall in love with learning
    English.

I couldn't have done any of this without my team of professional
teachers and staff at JacksonFive. One of these valued members is
certainly Joyce, a fellow JacksonFive member. As my school is
growing and teaching more people, so I have need for more dedicated
people to join our team. We have another rewarding "Administrative
Assistant" position open at JacksonFive School in Taichung. If you
or someone you know have good English and enjoys working with
foreign teachers and children, please give me a call at 04-24737578.
Candidates with computer, POP, or marketing experience would also
    be highly valued.

I have been thinking about something for the last few months and
more so since the coming start of the JacksonFive Summer Camp,
    http://www.jacksonfive.com.tw/Classes/SummerCamp.htm Many of
our readers in Taipei have been asking me to start a school there.
This got me thinking that I shouldn't limit the JacksonFive
Teaching System to Taichung. Eventually, I would like to start a
school in Taipei, HsinChu and many other parts of Taiwan. However,
I need to find good people/partners who share in my dream for
education and who would like to make this dream come true across
the island. If you think you are one of these people, please visit
    this page, http://www.path2english.com/JacksonFivePartner.htm

To conclude this issue, I would like to share with you, my dear
JacksonFive Family, something very important to me! I'm going to
have a real child! Sometime January or February next year, there
will be a little JacksonFive running around my school. Well...
probably crawling around, but you get the idea ^_^ I'm so excited
and a bit "apprehensive" (def: scared).
