Free Weekly "Path2English" Newsletter
Issue: 43 "Savvy e-Surfing"

=====================================================
Dear Reader,
Last week, I sent out a "Wanted Ad." to JacksonFive readers.
Immediately, I was "inundated" with emails.(def: flooded, filled
beyond capacity) I was getting 40-60 emails a day regarding this
"teacher assistant" opening at the school.
The quality of the interested candidates was also very high. I had
"applicants" with teaching degree and even a professor from China.
(def: people who apply) Actually, I did receive many emails from
overseas interested in the position, but "amusingly" also asking me
where Taichung was ^_^ (def: in a funny way) I also had one reader
who is, I believe, in Canada. She mentioned she is returning soon
and ask that I wait for her. There were just so many interested
people that I'm sorry if I wasn't able to reply to each and every
one of you.
However, truly, I'm moved by the "overwhelming" response and strong
"outpour" of interest! (def1: too powerful to resist, def2:
appearance): Though I haven't personally met the majority of you,
this strong response is a true testament for the JacksonFive
Family. Don't you think so?

I know most of you replied because you truly believed in the
"JacksonFive Teaching Style" and would like to be in a "creative
environment that promotes personal growth".
Honestly, I don't know why I didn't think of offering this position
to our JacksonFive Family sooner? I had tried the "104 Job Bank"
and advertising in the local newspaper with disappointing results.
The people that came just didn't have the "understanding of our
teaching philosophy" that I needed. The understanding and
"rapport" that comes from reading JacksonFive Newsletters (def: a
good relation that is based on mutual understanding or trust).
Each and every one of you knows what we stand for here at
JacksonFive. For any successful team, having a common goal is very
important.

"So who was the successful candidate?" you ask. Her name is Joyce
and she has been a fellow reader for about a year. She is a
graduate of the Taiwan National University in Foreign Languages and
Literature (English and Japanese). She comes to us with experience
as the personal secretary to the GM of a famous five star hotel in
Taichung. I was initially worried whether she was over qualified
for this position, but she said something that changed my mind.
She mentioned that she has been a long time reader and she believes
in our teaching spirit. She also said, just last year, she was
telling herself it would be great to work at JacksonFive (I wonder
which issue she just read ^_^) so when the opportunity came she
took it.

She has been at the school now for three days and we have been very
pleased with her. We look forward to her contributions to making
our school even better. Welcome Joyce to being a valued member of
our JacksonFive Team!
For those that haven't visited us yet, don't "despair"! (def: give
up hope) With the steady growth of our school, we will add one to
two more people to our JacksonFive Team over the next few months.
If you have a "minimum" level of English and would like being a
future member of our JacksonFive Team, please don't hesitate to
email me your resume. If you also have computer graphics, POP,
and/or web design skills; it would also be a plus.

<< IMPORTANT JacksonFive Family News >>
1. When you register for your friends, please tell them that you
registered them for my newsletter. Often, I receive emails from
new readers thanking me, but also asking me where I got their
information and who I was. Now with close to 10,000 readers,
these types of emails take a lot of time to reply.
2. Please remove me from your email address book. I appreciate the
thought, but email viruses are very common now. With my email
address in 10,000 address books, I receive email viruses very
often. I hope you understand.
